MIKKI, WHAT HAS “STEPPING ONTO A PATH OF FINANCIAL LIBERATION” MEANT FOR YOU?
Well, today! I’ll give you a real-life example. It has meant being on calls with clients, taking little breaks to read books to my son, taking my girls to their camp, and working… all together. That’s what I want and that’s what I have now.
YOU LEFT YOUR JOB FOUR MONTHS AGO IN APRIL OF 2014, DID YOU EVER FEEL LIKE ‘THE LEAP’ WASN’T GOING TO HAPPEN?
There definitely times when I felt like it wasn’t going to happen, and I know EWO probably even knows these times better than me. But I was always 100% committed to making it happen for me and my family, and THAT’S the difference. I knew it was going to happen, I just didn’t know exactly what it was going to look like. When something wasn’t working, I just needed to let go a little bit and pay attention to what was.
WHAT HAS BEEN LIKE TO HAVE THE SUPPORT OF EYES WIDE OPEN’S BUSINESS PRIESTESSMIND?
It has been SO amazing. What I remember, having my very first call, I was sitting at my desk where I worked, door closed… and I knew what I wanted. I wanted to build my business in a way that felt whole to me, in a way that I felt embraced the feminine part of me. In the corporate world where I was working, it was all ‘push, push, push’ and that was my “skill” – I could get stuff done! But this old way doesn’t support me in my own business, and so I really wanted to be in a space of people who were able to let things happen AND get things done. I didn’t know how to have the balance. And learning to obtain this balance has been the best gift that I have obtained through this amazing community women, the Priestessmind. The ability to ‘let things go’ and be able to just feel and know things are happening!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A MOM AND ANY WOMEN WHO’S WANTING TO CREATE A BUSINESS AND LIFE AWAKE, AWARE, AND ON HER TERMS?
It’s getting connected to what is important, and not letting go of that. Learning to have the connection without being attached. It’s not easy. And it’s not something you can do by yourself. You need to have support in order to hold that space. Often you can’t see what you need to see for yourself and move forward in what can feel “sloshy.”
