At the end of the six-month trial period, and after demonstrating my value to Alexis, I re-evaluated my goals and vision for my future in the world of finance, and what transpired was the epiphany that I wanted to turn what I was doing for Alexis into a business for myself. I engaged two new clients within a few months of making this decision and incorporated six months later…
Fortunately for me, the Stars were in alignment. Moments before new contracts were being negotiated for the following school year, my best friend invited me to go to Las Vegas along with her family. My friend’s mother, along with her employer, was participating in a conference, and her employer was in need of childcare for her two children during the hours of the conference. That employer was Alexis Martin Neely. By the end of the weekend, Alexis approached me saying…
And then something magical happened. When I went to study with some very special yogis in Colorado, I also met a lovely sister of my heart – Amrita! She welcomed me into Eyes Wide Open and it’s been an incredible journey of so much learning, on many different levels. And one of the deepest gifts of working with Eyes Wide Open has been this learning that I can create what I love.
My Liberation Love Story has gone from “get by, keep house, and give kids the best I can,” to now having as much time and financial liberation as I desire to support my kids with their passions. And… I have extra to spoil myself and my husband which feels great! The joy of being able to do extra beyond our kids’ needs is liberation, indeed.
So, ten months ago, I made the leap. I left my job at YEA! and started working with Alexis as a Law Business Success Coach with New Law Business Model, and went to visit Kiva Leatherman in New Hampshire for three days of brainstorming about entrepreneurial archetypes. It was all starting to come together. Not only was my lifestyle shifting (I can now work from anywhere, create my own schedule and be more particular about the projects I take on), I’ve also started my own business Embodied Action Coaching and I can honestly say that I love my work AND my life.
My Liberated Love Story begins last October, with my lovely cousin Lara Berg (Creative Director for Eyes Wide Open) helping me to begin my path to Liberation! I was in a very happy time of my life as I was newly married, but I was trying to mask a deep inner struggle as well. I was slowly trying to integrate my passions and my visions for the world into my working life, but was consistently told that it would not be successful: “you won’t make any money; it sounds more like a hobby to me; I don’t think it’s a good idea; why don’t you get a regular job?” I was attempting to break free of these remarks by promoting my blog about health and wellness, but the comments by others were wearing down my normally “watch me” attitude and, thus, causing me to sink deeper into this hole that I was desperately trying to escape from. A “normal job” to me meant trudging to an office every day, staring at the clock, waiting for the day to end, making money – a drone, a robot, a zombie.
