SUCCESS STORY:
DAWN DALILI
The gift of being in the group and the community is to have someone say, “I see your potential, and I’m holding you to it. Now step up.”
DAWN, WHERE WERE YOU BEFORE YOU JOINED EYES WIDE OPEN’S BUSINESS PRIESTESS MASTERMIND? WHAT WAS YOUR CHALLENGE, WHERE WERE YOU STUCK?
When I first started with EWO, I think my biggest challenge was with the worth of what I offered. I was very confused about how to talk about it, how to present it, and I think I wasn’t yet convinced how powerful the work that I do actually is.
Ali was first person to call me out point blank on not showing up fully to the work that I do and not being willing to take the risk of looking inside and finding myself and what mattered. Her willingness to push me, at the time, cut me to the core. But it really sparked a journey that has led me to recognizing who I serve, how I serve them, and really feeling honored to share it.
WHAT MOVED YOU TO TAKE ACTION?
I had gotten to my own emotional breaking point and wasn’t sure if I could continue to invest in my work. I loved it and I found it rewarding and yet it was costing me an arm and a leg because simply to be in business and offer my work to the world because I didn’t know how to do the business part in an intelligent way.
WHAT ARE YOU ABLE TO DO NOW THAT YOU COULDN’T DO BEFORE?
Oh gosh, what can’t I do know that I couldn’t do before?!
Well, I happen to live in Florida, and I’m a naturopathic physician by training, and naturopaths are not licensed at primary care physicians in Florida and it was one of the things that I had previously seen as a major limiting factor in my professional life. So a year ago, I was very focused on all of the things that I couldn’t do. And over the last year, what I’ve realized is I can touch lives in very profound and meaningful ways and facilitate phenomenal shifts in ways that have nothing to do with the practice of medicine. The more I focus on the positive, the more creative the outcomes become, so the possibilities are endless.
WHAT IS YOUR VICTORY?
Learning when I’m making a decision out of fear and when I’m making a decision from a place of faith in myself. Learning how to read myself so that I can continue to draw out my best.
What’s nice about this community, is that it’s not the dollar sign that’s important, it’s – did you show up as your best? And did you rise to the occasion of your full capacity? Learning to view my business in that way, has been a big victory.
HOW ARE THESE CHANGES IMPACTING YOUR BUSINESS NOW?
The way that I’m delivering my services has changed and the amount of revenue has certainly changed. Because of the extent that they’ve pushed me and because I was really able to land into the worth of my offering (which is ironic because I work with women around self-worth and I needed to be pushed to find the worth of my offering), now I find that not only when I describe my work to women – it’s become a more deeper act of service for me.
And also because they have pushed me into and through my own insecurities, I’m actually a much more effective coach. It’s not just the business side of me that’s changed. The sense of presence that I have had to find, in terms of doing the exploration in my business, has left me more grounded. And so now when I sit with a client going through her own emotional wreckage of the moment, there’s no need to rescue, fix, or placate. Because I’ve been able to witness the way that they have trusted me to find my own answers, so too I’ve been able to model that with my clients and hold space for them to find their own solution with subtle guidance. The work itself has become so much more powerful.
